Professional dual battery system supply and installation

A dual battery is a battery system with a second or auxiliary battery that has been installed in addition to the vehicle's original factory-fitted battery.

The two batteries work together, however they are used for different purposes:

the original battery ensures your vehicle always has start-up power
the auxiliary battery is most commonly used to provide your campsite with consistent power or to run a portable fridge in the rear of the vehicle (even when you are stopped and turned the ignition off)

A second battery in your 4x4 allows you to power various electrical components such as camping lights, a 12V fridge and other electrical accessories without running the risk of discharging the main (starting) battery of your vehicle.

The dual battery installation includes more than just the second battery.

While your vehicle alternator charges both batteries, we will also install a dual battery isolator, a DC to DC charger with an option of a battery monitor (volt meter), all the necessary wiring and circuit protection.

We can advise on the best suited area to install the dual battery system: either in your engine bay, in the cabin of your vehicle or in the rear tray of a ute.

We also supply the steel tray suitable to protect your new auxiliary battery from the harshness of off-road environments.
